In this article, you will learn how to add your district’s School Food Handler/TrainU website to the home screen of your iPhone, iPad, Android phone, or Android tablet.

Adding the website to your home screen creates an app-style shortcut, allowing you to access your training quickly without entering the website address each time. The process usually takes less than 30 seconds.

Before You Begin

Locate the School Food Handler website address provided by your district or administrator.

Because each district may have its own School Food Handler website, make sure you are using the correct link before creating the shortcut.

We recommend opening your district’s School Food Handler login page before following the instructions below. The shortcut will automatically open the exact page you are viewing when it is created.

Add School Food Handler to an iPhone or iPad

The following instructions use the Safari browser.

1. Open Safari on your iPhone or iPad.
2. Go to your district’s School Food Handler website.
3. Tap the Share icon. This icon looks like a square with an arrow pointing upward.
4. Scroll down through the available options.
5. Tap Add to Home Screen.

6. Tap Add or Install.
7. Follow any additional instructions displayed on your device.
8. Return to your home screen and locate the new icon.
9. Tap the icon whenever you want to access your School Food Handler account.

On some Android devices, the icon will be added automatically. Other devices may ask you to drag the icon to your preferred location on the home screen.

If “Add to Home Screen” Is Missing on an iPhone or iPad

If you do not see the Add to Home Screen option:

1. Confirm that you opened the School Food Handler website in Safari.
